The school year is right around the corner, but that doesn’t mean summer road trip destinations are off the table. There are several areas you should visit places around the state while the weather is still warm. If you’re looking for one last hurrah in Pennsylvania before all your vacation time is spent, there are a few places we at Lancaster Nissan suggest you visit.

According to OnlyInYourState, one of the best Pennsylvania summer past times is taking a float down any one of the many lazy rivers in the state. You can usually rent inner tubes for about $10 to $15 per day on the weekend, and many canoe liveries will provide supplies for the entire day. One of the best places is Coal Tubin’, which features trips for 90 minutes to up to three hours at a time.

Stop by the Camelback Mountain Adventure for an adventure-filled weekend. Thrill-seekers will love the Appalachian Express Mountain Coaster that goes through the mountains, while ziplining and Segway trips will make any summer day unforgettable.

Finally, adults can enjoy the Flagship Trolley wine tour. Totaling roughly six hours, you can sample some of the best wine in the region for just $40. Running until late October, the wine tour takes you to up to five wineries, letting you to sample premium local drinks. There’s nothing quite like a wine tour to help you relax.

Pennsylvania natural attractions are equal to none, making the state one of the best in terms of road trips. You can hop in your new Nissan and explore the natural wonders of Pennsylvania, from the mountainous roadways to stunning hiking trails. Plan your trip today.

According to OnlyInYourState, one of the top areas to visit in Pennsylvania is Pine Creek Gorge in Watson Township.  Sometimes called the “Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania,” this location has several views from stomach-dropping heights. Spanning more than 160 acres, the Pine Creek Gorge is a must-visit attraction for the adventure-minded.

Next, check out the Blakeslee Natural Area. Hikers will love this 130-acre location that features ancient hemlock forests and pools, including the Tobyhanna Creek. You can even see memorable waterfalls that will make this day-trip well worth the visit.

Finally, stop by the Coudersport Ice Mine. This ice cave is located in Sweden Township and is created by icicles that form in the spring and summer. Interestingly, the ice mines disappear in colder months, so it’s best to visit in late summer and the fall. The mine features icicles that measure up to 3 feet long and up to 25 feet in length—a truly unforgettable sight. This is just one of many road-trip destinations we at Lancaster Nissan think you should visit before the winter.
