The Nissan AutoMobili-D event was recently held at the North American International Auto Show, also called the Detroit Auto Show. AutoMobili-D was an exposition that is dedicated to the global automotive community, including more than 100 companies and environmental groups. The idea was to develop the next generation of automotive designs, and Nissan hopes to be a major part of that process.
Nissan provided keynote addresses, research, and sponsor events. Recently, Nissan sponsored a live-music event that was entirely power by the Nissan LEAF, demonstrating the potential this new vehicle has. In fact, Nissan is now widely considered the pioneer in the electric vehicle movement.
“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to show the LEAF-to-Home system at AutoMobili-D,” said Brian Maragno, director, Nissan EV Sales and Marketing. “Nissan has been a pioneer in ‘Vehicle-to-Home’ technology and a leader in its global adoption and we look forward to exploring the potential of this system, as well as the ‘Vehicle-to-Building’ and ‘Vehicle-to-Grid’ solutions in the very near future.”
Nissan is focusing largely on the LEAF-to-Home system in the US, a system that is more popular overseas. This system lets you use the LEAF to power your home like a conventional generator would, except with zero emissions. This is just one step towards true progress, and Nissan is a key part in it.
